This introduction is not designed for game-masters, it is for the players. They are developing the protagonists! It is in their hands, to provide main characters who are more than machines to solve the problems at hand. Even though the game-master prepared the framework for the story, the heroes of the players are the real designers of the adventure. If they accept the challenge.
How to make this come true is, in my opinion, the question which new roleplayers should seek a guide for, before they enter their first adventure.
This is such a basic guide for fresh roleplayers as well as an invitation for some veterans of the hobby, to evaluate the connection adventure-game master-player once more. What can and should be part of playing a hero? That is, what I am going to address.
